BITS & PIECES: SERVING JESUS BY SERVING OTHERS

The Young People's Ministry and Mission Central are partnering to provide a day of service for youth in the Susquehanna Conference.  We will be in service on Sunday, March 13, from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Due to the popularity of this event, two of our five event locations have reached capacity.

Remaining locations include:

- Covenant Helping Hands HUB, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, PA

PROPERTY & CASUALTY INSURANCE
 
We have received information that the 2016 Property & Casualty Rates will be 4% higher than 2015 rates. The rates will be on the January 2016 statements, which will be mailed out this week. Please note that adjustments may still be needed for property changes made during the last half of 2015.
 
Individual parsonage amounts will be communicated at a later date.

HEALTH INSURANCE
 
Reminder: The Health Insurance premiums for full-time pastors is now included on the monthly billing from Pittsburgh SUSUMC.
 
Any payments sent for January will be applied correctly, but, please do not include any future 2016 health insurance payments with your regular conference remittances! Such remittances will be held until they can be applied properly!

ANNUAL CONFERENCE RESOLUTIONS DEADLINE FEBRUARY 16, 2016

The opportunity is here once again for you, your congregation, or any of its members to offer a resolution for consideration at the 2016 Session of Annual Conference. The Mission and Outreach Team is charged with receiving these resolutions and passing them on to Annual Conference with either a vote of concurrence or non-concurrence. Resolutions are to be clearly printed and sent together with supporting documentation. It is preferred that all resolutions be received electronically via email. Please indicate a contact person should the team need to contact the petitioner for clarification.

SCHOOL OF PRAYER

School of Prayer is a series of four retreats - take one, take them all!  

Join us at Orchard Hill, our retreat site near Millerstown, to
explore Moving Inward: Praying for Ourselves; Intercessory Prayer: Praying for Others; Corporate Prayer: Praying Together. Laura Beach and Russell Hart will be the instructors.
   
This session begins Friday, February 26, at 6:30 p.m. till Saturday, February 27, at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $150, 1.25 CEUs.

PART-TIME ORGANIST / MUSIC DIRECTOR POSITION OPEN AT EMORY UMC, NEW OXFORD

Small, active congregation in historic New Oxford seeks an enthusiastic, part-time (10 hours per week) organist/music director at Emory UMC.

Responsibilities include choosing music for and accompanying blended-style Sunday morning services, conducting rehearsals of adult, children's, and possibly tone chime choirs, and coordinating volunteer musicians. Candidates who have a music degree or appropriate experience and can play the piano and organ are preferred.
