PASTORS CONSIDERING RETIREMENT AT THE 2016 SESSION OF ANNUAL CONFERENCE
 
Active Pastors under appointment (Local Church and Extension Ministry) who are considering requesting the Retired Relationship at the 2016 session of annual conference are urged to check paragraph No. 358, page 295 in the 2012 Book of Discipline. I call your attention to the second sentence of the opening statement.
 
"Requests for retirement shall be stated in writing to the bishop, cabinet, and the Board of Ordained Ministry at least one hundred twenty days prior to the date on which retirement is to be effective unless waived by the bishop and cabinet."
 
If you are considering retirement at the 2016 session of annual conference, please be sure that you honor the 120 days notification. As indicated in the Discipline, your request should be sent to the Bishop. Please copy your request letter to your District Superintendent; with additional copies to the Rev. Charles Sprenkle, chairperson of the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry, the Rev. Donald Hurley, chairperson of the Board's Conference Relations Committee, and Mrs. Andra Haverstock, Conference Pension Officer.

YOUTH WORKER / STUDENT LEADER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
 
Rev. Dr. Stephen Gallaher, Plum Hollow Youth Ministry Resources, has partnered with Salt 'n Light Youth Ministry Inc. and Messiah College to present regional youth worker/student leader training conferences throughout the mid-Atlantic region of the United Methodist Church.

Mission Central is the mission warehouse of the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church. The main goal of the organization is to centralize and unify the mission work of the various churches within the conference.

PRESCHOOL TEACHER POSITION OPEN AT CHARLTON PRESCHOOL AT CHARLTON UMC, HARRISBURG

Charlton Preschool has an opening for a teacher in our 3 year old class. We are looking for an individual who has good communication skills, can develop lesson plans, adapt to individual child's needs, is creative, organized, and can provide discipline as needed to maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment. College degree and experience is preferred. Two sessions per week from 8:50 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., plus additional times as needed during the school year.  Must be at least 18 years old and able to obtain clearances.

PART-TIME YOUTH MINISTRY COORDINATOR POSITION OPEN AT PINE STREET UMC, WILLIAMSPORT

Pine Street UMC is seeking a part-time youth ministry coordinator. The youth coordinator, along with a team of adult volunteers who value the spiritual development of our youth, will provide vision, integrity, leadership, and oversight of ministries for youth grades 6-12. Working collaboratively with the education committee, this person will design, grow, and shepherd a ministry of faith to our youth and young adults.
