CONFERENCE OFFICE HOLIDAY HOURS

The Conference office will close at noon on Friday, July 1, and will be closed Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

The office will reopen Tuesday, July 5.



THE BARNHART-BEARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Saint John's-Newberry United Methodist Church offers The Barnhart-Beard Memorial Scholarship to any college or post-graduate school student who is entering the ordained ministry, studying a field in Christian education, Christian counseling, music ministries, or some other field deemed acceptable by the selection committee.

To be eligible, applicants must be a member of a United Methodist church within the boundaries of the Susquehanna Annual Conference.  Full-time students will receive preference. In addition, applicants from Saint John's-Newberry UMC will receive preference, followed by applicants from the Williamsport District and then the Susquehanna Conference.

Held at Orchard Hill Retreat Center near Millerstown.

Come away and celebrate Creation. Be spiritually refreshed in the natural world. Rev. Jean Blackie will be leading the overnight retreat.

School of Prayer Session
Thursday, August 18, at 6:30 p.m., to Friday, August 18, at 4:30 p.m.
Held at Orchard Hill Retreat Center near Millerstown.

Explore moving beyond ourselves in prayer - praying in illness and suffering, praying radically, and with authority. Consider prayer and the powers that be, then participate in a prayer walk. You will be challenged, encouraged, enriched to pray -- more, differently, purposefully.
Presenters include Rev. Dr. Russell Hart, Rev. Laura Baber,
Rev. Alison Grove, and Ms. Deb Roush.
Cost is $150 for overnight accommodation, breakfast, lunch, materials, and 1.25 CEU's.

Messiah UMC, York, has an immediate opening for a salaried,
part-time children's ministries coordinator. Do you have a passion for children to know and trust Jesus? To grow in their walk with Jesus? This position will oversee all children's programs and ministry. They will work in cooperation with other church staff, volunteers, and committees of Messiah Church. They will, in the context of Christian growth and development, continue current ministries and/or develop new ministries, and will also be expected to recruit, train, and encourage a volunteer base.
