SUSQUEHANNA CONFERENCE UN SEMINAR TO DISCUSS VIOLENCE, TERROR, AND PEACE

Another pick-up location has been added for the very timely UN Seminar trip October 11-13, 2016, sponsored by Susquehanna Conference Mission and Outreach Team. Participants can now board along Route 80 at Lake Harmony McDonald's, as well as in Williamsport and Harrisburg.

Cost is $250 for bus transportation, two nights stay in New York City, and the 3-day seminar at the Church Center for the United Nations. Participants will pay separately for meals, local transportation and a UN Tour.

United Methodist leaders at our General Board of Church and Society will lead the Seminar as participants consider how should we as followers of Jesus - and United Methodists - respond to the violence we are experiencing in our communities and around the world? What are the things that lead to peace?

See the flyer and registration form - CLICK HERE.

The seminar trip is limited to 20 participants - register now.

Deadline is September 9.

SEPTEMBER 1 DEADLINE FOR HEALTH MINISTRIES GRANT APPLICATION

Is your church planning health-related activities for 2017? The Mission and Outreach Team has funds to assist with new health-related programs and with existing programs that demonstrate success. Preference will be given to projects that fulfill our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Innovative programs that meet real community needs in connection with other local ministries and other local churches will be given high priority. Grants may be given for parish nurse related programs, including initial training for parish nurses and/or health ministries, for purchase of blood pressure apparatus and first aid kits, for printed materials needed to begin a program, expenses for a health fair, and toward the purchase of an AED and CPR/AED training up to designated amounts.

CLICK HERE for the application and HERE for the policy.
