FAITH AND GUNS FORUM
 
Faith and Guns Forum - will be held November 14-16, 2016, in the United Methodist Building, 100 Maryland Ave. N.E., Washington, DC 20002, on Capitol Hill. This timely forum is open to all who can attend and will address issues of guns and faith, guns and policy, guns and public health, guns and survivors, and guns and organizing. You will also have the option of meeting with the office of your congressional representative on the last day and gain resources to take back to continue the work. It will be a time of worship, hearing from experts, and gaining resources to walk toward justice.

Registration is $200 per person, which includes housing (double occupancy), lunch, and registration fees. If you do not need housing, registration is $75.  We encourage you to participate with another person from you church/community and a 15 percent discount is offered if you do.

Deadline for registration is October 21, 2016.  Space is limited.

PART-TIME ADMINISTRATIVE CHURCH SECRETARY POSITION OPEN AT FIRST UMC, HERSHEY

First United Methodist Church, Hershey, is seeking a part-time administrative church secretary.

The  administrative church secretary will be the weekday workplace "face" and point of contact for everyone doing business with First United Methodist Church.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform normal secretarial duties including, but not limited to, answering the phone, serving as recording secretary for various church committees, maintaining office machines and office supplies.
  • Recruit, train, and utilize volunteers to aid in various office and financial-related tasks.
  • Schedule and assign rooms for all meetings and use of the church facilities.


This position may, in the future, include social media/software/Web site duties.

Weekly office hours for this position are: Monday through Thursday - 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Friday - 8:30 a.m. to noon.
