Director of Communications to Retire
Dear Sisters and Brothers of the Susquehanna Conference,
I wanted you to know that today I received and accepted the letter of retirement for Jerry Wolgemuth, Director of Communications for the Susquehanna Conference. Jerry's retirement will be effective July 1, 2017.
Jerry has been Director of Communications on Arlington Avenue in Harrisburg for the former Central Pennsylvania Conference and now the Susquehanna Conference for nearly 20 years. Coming from a career in banking and publishing, Jerry began in the Conference Office on Monday, September 1, 1997.
Over his career as Director of Communications, Jerry has led the way in changing the way the Annual Conference communicates with our members as well as the secular press. Jerry has been the name and voice of the Annual Conference.
Jerry has also updated the way news and information is shared with our pastors and congregations. Jerry instituted the QuikLINK to get news out quickly to as many people as possible. He also has led the Conference in the production of excellent video material. This is made possible because of Jerry's vision for a fully equipped studio located at Mission Central.
There will be opportunities to say thank you to Jerry in the next several months. But for now, we give thanks to God for Jerry's faithfulness to the mission and ministry of this Annual Conference.
An updated job description will be developed and a search will soon begin for the person who can help the Susquehanna Conference take the next faithful steps in the way we communicate our mission to our members, our churches and to the world.
