Issue: #17044
February 27, 2017

February 27, 2017

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Susquehanna Conference,

Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace, Healer of our Brokenness and Hope of the World!

I have some sad news to share with you. Earlier today Bishop Felton E. May passed away. He died peacefully. His family asks for your prayers during this difficult time.

Bishop May served the Harrisburg Episcopal area from 1984 until 1996 and had a profound impact on many people in this region, both clergy and laity. Let us remember Bishop May, not only for the impact he had on our region, but the impact he has had for Christ's Kingdom at large. He traveled the world giving witness to Christ's truth and justice wherever he went. Bishop May knew what it meant to be an instrument for God's reign and a catalyst for change. We know that he heard our Lord say those precious words, "Well done good and faithful servant!"

For those of you who wish to offer condolences to his family they may be sent to 3315 Oak West Drive, Apt 123 Ellicott City, Maryland 21043. We have no information on a service of celebration at this time. The family sent the following information:
