BE PREPARED WHEN DISASTER HAPPENS - GET ERT CERTIFIED OR RE-CERTIFIED
The Susquehanna Conference Disaster Response ministries will be offering Early Response Team training at two locations this fall.
ERT Certification prepares you to be among the first responders in a disaster after emergency personnel complete their work. This United Methodist Committee on Relief training is a great way to prepare for when disaster strikes our conference or its neighbors.
No prior training or experience is required.
Participants will need to have a background check done prior to receiving their badge, but not prior to training.
The training will be offered at Good Shepard UMC, Tyrone, October 7, and at Dorranceton UMC, Kingston, November 4.
The cost of the training is $20. This will include your manual and lunch. The course can also be used to re-certify ERTs whose certification has expired.
Register ASAP, as class size is limited.
RETIREE HEALTH INSURANCE - ONE EXCHANGE
Medicare's Open Enrollment is approaching. Open enrollment is an annual period from October 15-December 7, 2017, that allows you to change your Medicare supplement or Part D Prescription Drug plan for the following year. You will receive a newsletter from One Exchange in early October regarding open enrollment.
If you are satisfied with your current coverage and don't plan to make any changes, then no action is required. Your plan will automatically renew and you don't have to worry about contacting One Exchange.
The Board of Pensions will fund the HRA (Health Reimbursement Arrangement) in 2018 for the same amount as in 2017. As you know, any remaining funds from 2017 will roll over into 2018.
